Reference

Commands, shortcuts and the data Ginu keeps.

What this page covers

OutcomeFind a command or file location and understand its scope before using it.

Before you beginUse the command menu for current actions, and keep a copy of any data you intend to preserve.

Follow these steps

  1. Use the app’s Commands menu for the current command list, and Settings → Shortcuts for the keyboard actions it registers.

  2. Check standing permission grants with /permissions. Clearing conversation data does not revoke them.

  3. Settings → Data shows the agreement you accepted and the usage-reporting switch, and lets you re-run the import of instructions and memory from another CLI, with a Revert for each import.

Example

/permissions

Inspect the standing permission grants before deciding whether any should change. Removing conversation data is a different operation.

Use the reference as a lookup

The lists below are organised by command, keyboard action and stored data. Start with the thing you want to do, then check the argument and scope rather than running a command just because it is nearby.

Clearing conversation data does not revoke standing permissions. Raw audio is not normally saved. The files on disk are not encrypted by Ginu; disk encryption is a separate control.

Session commands

Type these into the message box. Your build’s own menu is the full list; this page leaves out the diagnostic and display-tuning commands.

/incognito [on|off]
this session writes nothing — no transcript, no notes, no logs, no learning; agents still work

Files on your computer

~/.Ginu/vault
Memory, projects, products and editable extension definitions. A git repository you own.
~/.Ginu/tasks, state and notes
Worker task records, session snapshots, continuity notes and greetings.
~/.Ginu/worktrees
Agents’ working copies of your repositories. Review and clean them through git.
Transcripts and logs
The transcript directory and diagnostic logs can contain conversation text and permission decisions. Review them before sharing.
Voice state and caches
Learned speaking rhythm, the owner voiceprint, acoustic measurements and cached spoken phrases.
Permissions and secrets
Standing grants, device credentials and saved preferences are kept separately from conversation records. Revoke or rotate these deliberately.

Notes

  • Your data lives on your computer, under a Ginu folder in your home directory, plus the transcript folder. Ginu does not encrypt these files; disk encryption is a separate control.
  • Raw audio is not normally saved.
  • Permission and conversation logs can contain sensitive text. Review their contents before sharing them.

Check

Before you delete anything, you know what it holds and whether you need to keep a copy first.
