Scratchpad

What this page covers
OutcomeLook at something with Ginu while still talking about it.
Before you beginHave one concrete thing to show: a flow, a code change or a running agent.
Follow these steps
Scratchpad is the column beside the conversation where Ginu puts what speech cannot carry: a diagram, a code review, a table, a file from a project, or a running agent’s terminal. It shows one thing at a time, and a new push replaces what was there.
Markdown renders by default, and a mermaid diagram inside it draws. Raw gives you the source when you need to point at an exact line — selecting text will not switch the view on you — and Copy takes the source, not the rendering.
A code review offers Accept, Abandon or Not now, and nothing merges on its own. Not now parks it as a chip above the pad; the chip reopens it, and one nobody returns to clears itself after a day.
An agent’s terminal shown here has its own input box, reaching the same process as its card under Agents. Pairing codes for a phone also appear here while a connection is being opened.
Example
Show me a diagram of this request flow in Scratchpad.
The rendered diagram opens beside the conversation and stays there while you discuss it. Switch to Raw when the point you are making is about an exact source line.
One thing at a time, and three ways to end a review
Scratchpad shows one item, and a new push replaces it. That is deliberate — it is a place to look at something with Ginu, not a shelf to accumulate things on — so copy anything you want to keep before showing the next one.
Accept, Abandon and Not now mean different things and none of them happen on their own. Not now parks the review as a chip above the pad: the chip reopens it, its × removes it, and a chip nobody returns to clears itself after a day. Closing Scratchpad sticks across a reload until something is pushed.
An agent’s terminal shown here has its own input and reaches the same worker as its card under Agents. Use it for that one agent; use the conversation for the work as a whole.
Notes
- Expand fills the window, the sun switches that panel to a light theme, and −/+ resize its text.
- Closing Scratchpad sticks across a reload. It stays shut until something is pushed into it.
Check
You can move between the rendered and raw view, copy the source, and park a code review without losing it.
